Let's work together

Cost

– Split fees for hosting (~$80), domain registration (~$40), website software (free), email address (~$15 per)

– So, if eight individuals: ~$30 per year

Benefits

– Ability to bring in others on client discussions

– Ability to offer wider range of services to clients

– Opportunity to be drawn into others’ projects

– Access to more markets (assuming geographic diversity of members)

– Opportunity to brainstorm with others to provide clients with more useful interactions

– Finders fees for projects you bring in (even if you don’t work on it)

– Collective benefits from all projects distributed to all members (whether involved or not)

Approach to Pricing

– After initial client discussion, internally figure out who to involve

– Standard hourly rate for everyone

– Estimate hours per person

– Multiply hours by standard rate, add % for finders fee (ff)

– Also add % for collective benefit (cb)

– Estimate + ff + cb = price to client

Other Details

– New members added by consent of existing ones; ideally existing members gain familiarity with and confidence in new members’ work via some light-touch firsthand experience with their work

– Space Collective is not a company, but is a vehicle to support members’ business prospects

– Payment arrangements are arranged between members’ companies

– We stick to quoted prices (whether or not members run over with hours)

– We define scope so each member is responsible for their element (reduces others’ reputational risk)

– A mechanism enables booting nonperforming members  (e.g. a quarterly member vote)

– Related to booting mechanism, some definition of general indicators of (non)performance
